Danny lives with his loving mother, his uncaring father, and his best friend Portia the pig in a little house on a hill with a view of the sea, where the stars are almost close enough to touch. But when his mother falls ill and heavy rain brings the sea right to their doorstep, Danny and Portia must set out in his little toy boat to search for more time — and maybe even catch the stars.

CHARACTERS
DANNY – A young boy.
LILLY – Danny’s loving mother. Doubles as THE WISE ONE.
PORTIA – A pig, puppeteered. Danny’s best friend.
MRS. TURTLE – A small turtle who lives next to Danny’s home, puppeteered.
JACK – Danny’s uncaring father, a miner. Doubles as SEA MONSTER.
BARKEEP – Runs the pub Jack frequents. Doubles as DOCTOR and BANKER.
DOCTOR – The bumbling village physician.
BANKER – He counts, calculates, and collects time. Mary Poppins-eque.
SEA MONSTER – A sea monster, puppeteered. He’s hungry.
BARNABY – A seal, puppeteered. The guard dog for the Isle of Ark.
JUDY – The Kangaroo Court judge, puppeteered.
RUDY – The Kangaroo Court bailiff, puppeteered.
LOBSTER – A witness at the Kangaroo Court, puppeteered.
HECTOR – A monkey, puppeteered. In the Pound, he misses his family.
THE WISE ONE – An ancient sea turtle, puppeteered. She knows the secrets of time.
